Jen Quesnel

After her start at Global Regina, Jen Quesnel spent nearly 20 years as a TV and radio news reporter at CBC locations in Calgary, Quebec City, Regina and Saskatoon. Her persistence, passion and journalistic determination led to reporting for World Report, Canada at Five, The World At Six, As It Happens, The Current, and local radio programs. Her live TV broadcasts and reports aired on CBC Saskatchewan, The National, The Fifth Estate and CBC News Network.

Her live broadcast experience gave her a front-row seat on Canadian court cases, political battles, Indigenous perspectives, business, the environment, health care and education, with RTNDA awards as well as a Michener nomination and a Gemini award for Best Local Newscast. In her home province, Quesnel hosted CBC programs including Saskatoon Morning, The Morning Edition, Bluesky and The Afternoon Edition.

Quesnel is deeply committed to making her city and community stronger, and continues freelance work with CBC, while hosting podcasts including Researchers Under the Scope and Rooted in Potash; Canpotex at 50. Jen is a graduate of the University of Regina’s School of Journalism and Communications, and has worked with pewaseskwan (Indigenous Wellness Research Group) at the University of Saskatchewan, MS Best, the Saskatchewan Lung Association, and University Affairs magazine, and volunteered with the HOPE Cancer Help Centre, CFCR community radio and Girl Guides of Canada.

Quesnel's feature writing for University Affairs magazine won the 'Gold' award for the 2022 Canadian Online Publishing Awards, Company Feature.
